The Cellular Telecommunications Industry, which represents mobile phone groups, did not say why they blocked the president’s messaging service, but said in a statement, “We expect all senders — whether airlines, schools, banks or campaigns — to include clear opt-out language and gain prior consent before sending a text.”
“These simple steps help protect consumers from spam and maintain text messaging as a trusted medium for everyone,” the group added.
I’ve been getting texts from ATT on my work phone and there’s no opt out language. I typed ‘stop’ and it said that I’m now opted out. I then proceeded to continue getting texts. Fuck you.
Prot tip for eveyrone, always send STOP ALL, not just STOP. STOP ALL (should) removes your number from all text lists a company may have you on.
Replying STOP goes to an automated system. While they might have a system built in place to detect the response as a living person, I doubt it would add you to a "random generated robocall" list like another user said.
Or how their candidate is shit. Or about the Second Amendment. Or about (literally) goblins (Goblin Slayer themed). None seem to have worked.
Once tried how Hillary was going to ban marijuana and sent some stuff from the marijuana version of the "Draft our Daughters" spoof. They actually responded to that text with a chain of texts.
With that said, I was getting many Trump and related texts a day asking for money (generally from different numbers do not possible to block locally). Which did get annoying. When I give the Trump or other campaigns money (and I do), it is not due to a text. I would have liked an easy option to limit the number of political texts to no more than a couple a week (absent something special going on).
Why would saving money matter with texts? Are you on a plan that costs 10 cents a text or something? I honestly didn't think those even existed anymore.
oh ok. well yeah i'll be honest they do get a little annoying because there are so many issues we all need to see addressed. i have donated several times but I can't do it every time I get a text lol. I just swipe it aside if I'm not up for it at the moment. That said though, these companies should not be impeding contact. If people don't want the message text stop or whatever.
Did they hire spez?
Odd, I get his texts and was pretty clear opt-out text for it when I opted in. Are they saying it needs to be on every text?

I mean, if it's AT&T then they know which numbers are in use.

This is telecom by nature. You are opted in when you sign the contract. They are scum and will sell your information even if you opt out.
I have tried (with the DNC and related):
"Still Voting Trump"

I don't get the texts because I opted out
Same here. I figured they pay per message and didn't want to cost the campaign unnecessary money.
Same here!!!!!!
Yeah what's up with the CBD texts? I started getting those recently and I have no idea how they got my number
all you have to do is text STOP
ah damn I never tried so I wasn't aware that's annoying

I think he's referring to almost all of the messages being about donating.

Fucking rich coming from telecom. They fucking sell your information without your consent all the fucking time.
I get spam texts all the time in all sorts of languages. I didn't opt into any of them.
