This is the hill to die on and always has been. There are estimates that there are now or approaching over 40+ million illegals in this country, 80+% of them Hispanic. States that have never seen a Mexican now have entire communities. Hispanics have obliterated the taxpayers ability to cope with their surging influx. They have overwhelmed the educational, healthcare, housing, law enforcement and work systems. California is gone. NYC is gone. Texas is almost gone. The rest will follow. Over 85% of illegals originate in Mexico. They contribute a few billion in taxes to local and state economy but that is short shrift compared to the tens of billions they send out annually to relatives back home and the $200+ billion that the American tax payer is gouged to pay for all of the above problems. Immigrants to this country used to be compelled to “become American” and most complied easily. They fled their shithole countries of origin to become something new. These people don’t. It has been 20 YEARS since I ran errands on any given day and didn’t hear Spanish clucked next to me in an aisle, waiting line, waiting room or behind the counter. If Trump loses the country is DONE. You will NEVER hear any other further EOs, bills, legislation or enforcement dealing with the illegal problem. They will constitute over 50% of this country within 5 years. Democrats are proud of this. It WILL come to pass unless Trump is elected to a second term.

The fact that there is even a debate about including illegal aliens and other foreign nationals for representation shows how corrupt the Democrats are. They don't care about anything but power and control.

It's absolutely ridiculous that it's not plainly obvious counting illegals violates the Constitution.

"Representatives and direct Taxes shall be apportioned among the several States which may be included within this Union, according to their respective Numbers, which shall be determined by adding to the whole Number of free Persons, including those bound to Service for a Term of Years, and excluding Indians not taxed, three fifths of all other Persons."

How do you define "Persons"? Well at a minimum it's plainly obvious the drafters did not intend for it to mean "any and all people living in that state". How do you know? Because in that very sentence they created carve-outs excluding certain people (Indians not taxed).

So then what was the intent? Article 1, Section 2 from which this passage is derived discusses Representatives, who are voted in. Who is eligible to vote? Citizens 18 and older. You do a Census to determine how Representatives are apportioned. By creating a process for a Census in this manner, it seems clear the drafters intended to tie a Census in with the right to vote. Because without voting, there's no Representatives and no need to apportion them. So I'd argue a Census should only be a count of people eligible to vote. Not even legal immigrants should be counted. I wouldn't even count people under 18.

Let's also look at the 14th Amendment. The drafters could have just repealed the 3/5 compromise. But instead they also created the Citizenship Clause, outlining what exactly a citizen of the United States is. If previous mentions of "Persons" in the Constitution was to mean "citizen", why would you need a separate Amendment defining citizenship? Obviously the 14th Amendment recognizes that not everyone - just by virtue of being present in American territory- is a citizen with the right to vote and thus the right to be counted for purposes of apportioning representation that is tied to the right and privilege of voting.

Illegals are easier to control, they don't complain to management or authorities, and they don't push for raises. I am a hard working American who just wants an honest wage for honest work. It's really hard to get that when illegals will do the job for less. They are also unable to report workplace violations. Shitty system.

Californian here. While this news is very exciting -- because my home state was stolen by the Democrats through decades of targeted voter fraud -- I don't understand how illegals will be identified on the census. Because having filled out mine, I don't remember a question that asked about legal status. Does anyone know how this would work?

I guess my only question is how would this be enforced? There are a lot of illegals in my district in Los Angeles. If some of them fill out the census, how would the government determine that they're actually illegal?
