On the flip side, maybe you should have made sure your children were smart enough to stay away from an obviously dangerous area. Bad parenting.

The police DO NOT have an obligation to protect you. They can stand by and do nothing as you are assaulted.

i can see this as well.

but the issue at hand for me is knowing how much footage there is of the violence

and the mayor acting like they were all out for a picnic.

Are you saying you obeyed everything your parents told you to do or not do?

It's weird that person was so quick to jump on the bad parenting angle when the Mayor, who should be serving the town she was elected to serve, told the police to leave a 6 square block area in downtown so it could be taken over by an anti-American group that claimed they were their own country and then proceeded to destroy buildings, vandalize the city, shake down businesses for "protection" money, allow Americans to be robbed, beaten, and killed with no recourse for a justice or court system for WEEKS.

But oh, yeah, let that happen. Don't dare try to sue politicians that allowed a city to be overrun and ordered police to stand down. Just blame parents and call it a day.

Look, parenting plays a part, I can't assume what she did and did not do. It's pretty apparent about the Mayor what she is liable for.

Teach them to be smart? I've seen little evidence this is possible from all psychometric studies I've read. Or perhaps you think there is value for parents to chain up their 19 year old children? I'm tired of all this parent-blaming shit.
