Episode 7 was the first star wars I didn't see twice in the theater. Episode 8 was the first I didn't get on bluray. Episode 9 is the first I haven't seen at all. Kinda bummed actually. Kathleen Kennedy ruined such a good thing.
A metaphor I use to express how I feel is the proverbial old man telling stories around the fire. One day there's a coup, and a new group of people tell a different set of stories, with different morals and values, using the old man's characters.
I don't really feel "let down" because the old man's stories are still in my heart, and I righteously shun these new ideals as Trojan horses hidden in the old man's characters. As soon as I sniff this treachery, I stay away from that fire site, and I tell anyone who will listen to do so as well.
They haven't ruined Star Wars for me because I never watched the new ones
