I've had 2 neighbors die of covid. I've also had 2 family members lose their sense of smell and have scar tissue on their lungs after they "recovered" from Covid. You know you don't have to show symptoms to spread it right? Are you okay with killing people? I don't get it. I support Trump and love my country. But I just don't understand the right's ignorance and indecent effort to prolong this pandemic. I get it masks are uncomfortable and inconvenient but this virus kills. I think the only way to defeat it is to stop the spread until a vaccine comes. This virus is designed to kill the poor and stupid. We gotta be smarter folks. I've left my house 5 times since the lockdown. I know I have no blood on my hands. How about you?

it is a sad reality that viruses are natures crowd control. We have done a damn good job at keeping viruses at bay with immunizations, but there still are those that will die from it. If you look at the flu for example we do not fear it though it kills many people every year. We do are best by staying home and immunizations. The flu still strikes every year and we do not go into full panic mode when it does. When we do get sick we build antibodies to help us fight illnesses. Remember having chicken pox parties?
These common masks and bandanas don't work. The size of the Covid virus is in microns and the mask everyone is wearing won't stop the virus. On top of that, people do not wear their masks correctly and are using the same one over and over. This becomes a larger issue when not used correctly.
People are constantly cross contaminating everything. The gloves employees wear crack me up. They never change them and they touch all my shit then I take it home and now I could be contaminated. As a 100% method, I would have to change gloves for every item I touched and put into my sanitized basket, check out at a sterile stand, employee will have new set of gloves, come home and sterilize all items from store before i enter house, and myself as well.
This would all be done for a virus that has such a low mortality rate, that it is not worth the effort. Where we need to be smart is keeping people with co morbidities in their homes. Herd immunity is real and itll be what gets us moving along.

I have read several studies on masks. The most commonly cited one is specifically talking about 7 to 12 layer cloth masks tested in a hospital setting. Their results showed the masks were of marginal effectiveness, and the confidence in that result was low.
Their have been many past studies on the effectiveness of masks in relation to other disieases transferred through respiratory droplets, and the result has always been that the marginal benefits were outweighed by the risks of prolonged mask wearing.
I read a pubmed article that showed how you could make a mask out of a T-shirt to help those in impoverished area. From what I remember you had to have several layers thick and it had to fit TIGHT. That’s the problem with the mask these people are wearing they are too loose.

In about 6 months the “trend” to wear mask will not be cool, people will stop eating mask, and you’ll have many people getting sick at the same time. I don't see why healthy people need muzzles. If the sick stay home, if everyone keeps clean and keeps their distance, there is no need for them. It is very sad that people have died. However no one cried over the 1000's that died last year from the flu. In Australia more people have died from suicide then from covid. The use of masks is to control the masses. Nothing more.

Stats from the virus never made any sense, and it was clear that there were so many discrepancies.
The very idea of keeping the economy open was totally vilified, when, at that point it wasn't very clear if thats the right thing to do or not. At the very least, it should have been a discussion.

All these factors has made the masks in particular, but the virus in general a highly political issue. There are now people who think the virus is completely a hoax. There are those who think, its not a hoax, but not especially deadly. There are those who think that while it may be deadly, it is inevitable, and going through the tough phase to reach herd immunity is the only way.
There is no one in authority who has addressed any of these in any comprehensive way, making the misinformation even more rampant.
Pushing civil unrest, while the COVID is active, while every policy intended to hurt Trump's ratings, just before the elections - You can't blame people for believing that this is all a conspiracy.
I personally think that wearing masks and social distancing with help at least to some extent. The best option would have been to strongly advocate for masks right from the beginning, and not to make it mandatory. Only when this crisis ends, will we learn the full picture and know what to do next time.
If you're wearing a mask, and I'm assuming you are because you think they work, then I shouldn't have to wear one by you.. right? Since you're 'protecting' yourself and it works.. there are Hospitals all over the country who have been labeling a lot of deaths that had nothing to do with covid as a COVID death. that is a fact and has been reported. So if were you I would make sure that's what really happen to your family members. Also facts are. More people have died from the flu than COVID Also facts are there was a time where CDC was combining COVID numbers with the seasonal Flu. The media was reporting the total numbers AS COVID NUMBERS!! Texas and a few other States have been caught inflating the COVID numbers by taking ever person to tests positive for COVID and adding every person they've been in contact with to the total number of Cases. Also there have been hospitals who have taking a patient who has tested for Covid multple times and each time they tested positive add those numbers to the COVID case numbers. So you could have one person who has been tested 10 times count as TEN COVID CASES. That's not all a LAB in San Antonio was caught only reporting the POSITIVE COVID CASES and not the negative ones. Which is why President Trump is forcing every hospital to report their results to the WhiteHouse so they can check the numbers themselves. I have a feeling that the number of cases are going to start dropping by the end of Augusts. Also facts are there was a time where "EXPERTS" claimed MASKS would not work but now somehow they do..While yes this is a new virus and things change but I'm not buying into that BS excuse anymore.
