I hear you and let most petty insults go. I think the problem is that the haters have had zero pushback for their comments and so think everyone shares their opinion. You're about 3 years too late to gain this perspective under Trump and about 40 years too late to have any real effect unless you are willing to engage in actual violence like they are.
