My Dad passed on today after fighting MS for 20 years. Lost muscle by muscle, function by function, quadriplegic for a decade. His parents immigrated legally from Italy, they were poor. HE WORKED FULL TIME FROM THE AGE OF 12, paid his own way through law school, BUILT HIS OWN LAW PRACTICE...

Always had busts of Washington and Lincoln in his office and taught my siblings and I to love and help others.

Hard work privilege. Good parents privilege.

Yep, and was always kind to others even as he became more and more of a prisoner to the MS.

I can’t imagine waking into a body that can’t move for 10 years.

Especially with the work ethic he had.

The experience certainly made me more compassionate to others and I try to assume that you are dealing with your own hell before I get upset
