I originally wanted two but after a lot of pregnancy complications (severe nausea, si joint disfunction, high risk uterine malformation, antenatal anxiety and depression that made me suicidal), then a csection, pre eclampsia, severe postpartum depression, postpartum insomnia (still after 11 weeks) and a colic newborn that spent 5 days in the nicu, cried 9 hours a day and slept in only 30 min increments for 9 weeks, I'm spent. Not to mention very little family help because of covid. At 34 I'm just too old for this shit haha. I simply cannot and will not have another.
She's smiling and super cute and I totally love her, but she still wakes up every 30 min some nights. Good nights she sleeps 2 hour chunks but that's really rare. I haven't slept in the same room as my husband in 10 weeks because we split the night into shifts so we don't go fuckin crazy from sleep deprivation.
I'm lucky I'm a stay at home mom now. I got a needy one! She cannot sleep anywhere other than on my lap during the day or in her bouncer at night. This shits hard but I think I got dealt a situation that's rougher than the average.

Baby 1 didn’t sleep through the night for the longest time. I eventually read Dr. Jim Sears and I made peace that I had a “high need baby” and did whatever I had to do to get some rest, including moving into spare bedroom for a while. We moved when Baby 1 was 5 wks old so I didn’t have any family nearby either. I’ll say a prayer for you, sleep deprivation is brutal.
If it makes you feel better, our 2nd baby slept 5 hours straight a night from birth.

They use a surgical scalpel and a sterile environment while the baby is on usually the grandfathers lap. What you said, used to happen unfortunately and it is almost never done in modern times. It is extremely controversial as it should be and the vast majority of parents will not allow that to happen and only hire a "mohel" who is almost always a medical professional.

I have no problem with homosexuality and saying you enjoy how a penis looks but I can’t say that a medical procedure on a newborn simply so they can “look better” in the future is necessary. I’m originally from Eastern Europe and that just was something that was never done, only people of Jewish religion in my former country did this and most of America is not Jewish so I have no idea where the trend came from and why unnecessary surgical procedures are done. To me it’s like implanting silicone into young girls chests. Sure, someone may think it looks good or whatever, but it’s not a requirement and kind of strange to make that decision for a child. It’s a less extreme of parents deciding to transition their kids in my opinion.
But then again my opinion may be biased because I live on the west coast and most men do not have this procedure done.

I broke down and wore a mask in public for the first time yesterday. Really wanted fresh donuts from a local business and had a moment of weakness. Wore my MAGA mask in thinking I'd get some odd looks from the teens behind the counter. First thing out of the young woman's mouth who was waiting on me was, 'I like your mask'. Made me feel a little better about being muzzled I guess.

Normally they clamp it off. If you just wait a moment or two, what pressure is left will diffuse into the new baby.
I doubt that nurse made the same mistake after that. I imagine it was a teachable moment.
You are supposed to wait a bit and dont let them clamp it. It will finish pumping the stuff to the child and you can cut it then. It isn't something you have to immediately remove.
