smegma is when semen and urine mix together, and is quite easy to avoid not only with actually cleaning but also making sure you dont keep pee inside your foreskin by pulling the skin back when you urinate and dabbing yourself dry
its gross to us but it's also a natural part of mating because every other mammal produces the same thing, it's part of the natural lubricating process. of course human beings can just use lube or work on foreplay, things of that nature, I just say this because the existence of smegma doesn't mean we're subhuman.
is it a hassle to go through these extra cleaning steps? sometimes, sure. I get self conscious about it so I try to always wash up right before sex just to be sure. cant imagine anybody saying it's worth cutting the foreskin off just to avoid, though. you'd never have to clip your nails again if you cut the ends of your fingers off. anybody wanna volunteer? it'd be easy to deal with the pain if you had it done to you when you were an infant, so i mean why not?
I've seen smegma only a couple of times in my entire life, and that's when I first retracted the foreskin as a child (note that the foreskin is not retractable on babies).
Since then, never seen smegma not one single time in my adult life.
I even went one week without showering as an experiment, still no smegma.
