Especially here where we don't have gay ass rules like "You can only post every 8 minutes if you have low karma." Votes here literally only determine comment appearance order, the way it was supposed to be.
It might be cool if downvotes only start working after 1 month. Just a tiny adjustment to make a huge difference. There might be a few people who create throwaway accounts and wait a month to use them but that is likely far fewer than the people who create an account and start downvoting everything.
Even just a week would probably solve the problem if a month is too long.
