mass conversion is basically organized conversion of tribal and poor people, it disconnects them from their roots and breaks their native identity and connection. it creates schisms and faultlines in society. it is not a spiritual conversion or a faith activity, it is essentially an ideological campaign onto unsuspecting population, like "dawah" and "tableegh". people who explore spiritualism and go along a path, christianty or atheism or whatever is a different thing, it is a personal thing it is to each his own. mass conversaion, proselytization is not that. it is part bribe, part social pressure, part conditioning, and a lot of ideological brainwashing. and this is wrong. it has serious implications on a populations culture, political identity and everything. tribes lose their traditional gods, traditional language, traditional affinity to the land and look towards a foreign culture a foreign identity as their own. it is predatory on the native culture.
just like americans want to preserve their own culture, and the connection and the identity of their nation and would not appreciate if there are massive conversions to islam or to the religion of communism, similarly indians would not like it done to them, either by communists, or by islam or by christianty.

Well, if the ones claiming to be Christians try to force it on others instead of witnessing it then they cannot be called Christians. Christian means to be Christ-like as in to be as close as possible with Jesus's character as possible.

Keralite christians are different from others. They are pious, God fearing, and christians in every way in that they pray to Jesus and consider bible as the word of God and everything. But on top of that they have a very distinct and explicit understanding that they are natives of the land, that other than their spiritual faith, they are sons of the soil and they belong to the Indian culture. Their conduct and their practice of christianty is not towards conversion. Yes they will speak of jesus to others, they will try to spread the word of the lord and such, but they I find that they do this as a spiritual quest, not in a sense of a mission to convert. Christianty to them, I find, is a spiritual path, not a socio political identity or a matter of church governance. I don't find anything wrong in that. Nobody finds any fault in this approach. They are a third of the population in that region, and there is no friction with them there is nothing but peace and love. That is a spiritual conversion not a socio political one.
But that was christianty as was brought by St. Thomas. In more recent times, the conversion is spearheaded by missionaries in a very different way. They target the tribal natives and poor people and using a mixture of monetary bribes, social conditioning, ideological brainwashing, preying on superstition and economic vulnerabilities and creating hositility towards hindus and Indian culture, they en-masse convert population to christianty. It is a very different mode of conversion. It actively seeks to demonize the Indian culture and create social schism. I remember having a friend when I was a kid who after playing soccer wouldn't come to a nearby temple to drink water (in India water fountains is not available any where and everywhere) because his pastor was teaching him that it is a place where evil spirits reside. My friend was a tribal convert. It is not a one-off incidence. In some regions of India nearly 90-98% of the tribals have been converted, which basically has killed the native culture, the native tribal gods and even the native tribal language and the tribals now see themselves as a separate political identity from rest of the country. like muslims look towards the mecca for spiritual and political guidance and build their identity from there these people start looking at vatican (indian muslims for example, when they speak of their history they start talking about battles in arab lands) and separatist movements have taken hold. Villages and families get divided and political affiliations are changed with a foreign outlook a globalist kind where native and nationalist aspirations are looked down upon. It is not nice.
The american culture, and american way of life is good for America and it has a right to protect itself and prosper there. There will be engagements and discussions and exchange of ideas and people will take whatever idea they like and give ideas of their own, and that is good. But it would be bad for lets say islam or communists to start spreading their own ideological propaganda and destroy the culture of America. Similarly for india. That is all. Nobody has a problem with Jesus or christian faith or conversion that happens as a spiritual quest. But a factory like ideological subversion like mass conversion is very damaging to the society and that is undesirable.

If there is anything I can explain better or any question you might have, please do feel free to ask. nothing but love and respect for trump and america. even good friends who respect each other may disagree on some points and that is okay. the general direction, the big picture thing is that there is more common ground, more cooperation to be had and the disagreements if any are too too small and minor.
