Today marks the 2nd National Annual Glioblastoma Awareness Day! It was introduced by U.S. Senators Martha McSally (R-AZ), Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Brian Mast(R-FL), and Mitch McConnell (R-KY).

Glioblastoma is the most aggressive form of brain cancer. It was the disease that Senator John McCain, Senator Ted Kennedy, and Joe Biden’s son Beau Biden passed away from.

In the middle of the pandemic the creator of the TrumpCoatBot from the Reddit Days was diagnosed with Glioblastoma. We are saddened to hear this news but there is hope for the creator.

Thankfully, our great President Trump pushed the Right to Try Act in 2018 which directly affects terminal illnesses in a positive way.

Another act called the Promising Pathway Act which is also sponsored by Senator McSally wants to make a change to how the FDA drug approval process works. It will allow all terminal illnesses to get access to promising drugs faster with a time-limited provisional approval pathway and looks to lower the overall costs of all drug development from Billions to Millions. With this bill passing and knowing Trump would sign it if it got to his desk, we are asking the community to help send these letters and share this link to influence our Senators to get behind and pass this bill.

My grandma died in 2016 one month after diagnosis. Glioblastoma is no joke. Doctor estimated she may have only had it for 8 months in total.

14
rooftoptendie 14 points ago +14 / -0

pede, I am sorry for your loss. Prayers your way.

14
wake_up33 14 points ago +14 / -0

My brother was 56 when glioblastoma took his life. He was a surgeon and started to have a tremor in his hands, so he went to the doctor. Received the diagnosis and eight months later he was gone.

Lost my favorite Uncle at 54 to GBM. He had 3 craniotomies. He fought hard. It’s a hellacious Cancer

6
wake_up33 6 points ago +6 / -0

I am so sorry for your loss! Nothing hurts worse than watching a loved one fight so hard and not be able to make it better for them. My brother had at least 3 more surgeries after the initial one. He was such a trooper through it all.

markels_ginger_bitch 25 points ago +27 / -2

High Concentration THC, often referred to as "Phoenix Tears" or Rick Simpson's Oil, is effective in mitigation of Glioblastoma, as it both reduces the tumor size and causes cell apoptosis (cell death) of the cancerous cells to occur. In Spain, surgery with direct injection of the THC into the tumor is permitted. This is serious; best results achieved prior to other chemotherapy. I've seen multiple cases with good results. Not a doctor but involved in the industry.

11
lococholo 11 points ago +11 / -0

My father died of glioblastoma last year. He died without pain and enjoyed every moment of his life, even after diagnosis. Do not be afraid.

2
Jackdaw 2 points ago +9 / -7

Shuuuuut the fuuuuuck up with your pseudoscience. THC is not effective in mitigation. It does nothing and is certainly not “best results achieved”. And its not from Western medicine hubris - optune helmet magnets somehow have been proven to help and all our patients are offered them. I AM an expert in gbm and have seen hundreds if not thousands of cases. Hate you snakeoil salesmen. Either pride, ignorance , or greed but you’re wrong.

Edit: Im sorry. I think I was looking for a fight for no reason. Respectfully (now) you are incorrect based on my very educated and experienced opinion. Massive work has been put in on gbm and life expectancy has only improved 3 months in 30 years. I will leave my comment up even thiugh its completely unwarranted.

10
markels_ginger_bitch 10 points ago +11 / -1

you must be one of those division fags I keep reading about. Instead of offering anything helpful to a brother who is suffering, you attack me for sharing something that I have observed to work in those I have helped care for. How about don't be a bitch, and maybe offer some help of your own. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4791144/ Edit: my response was written before I read your edit, apology accepted, and sorry for my tone.

9
Jackdaw 9 points ago +9 / -0

Fair enough. I dont know what the division is. No, Im a doc and GBM was a large part of my practice. My heart cried out to a lot of the patients because of naturopaths and such who gave false promise. Ive found it cruel they take someones money and tell them they had more time. GBM is pretty clear cut in prognosis. But you are probably coming from a sincere place and I was a anonymous dick.

5
markels_ginger_bitch 5 points ago +6 / -1

Bygones. We're frens. "Division fag" is a term we use on the qresearch boards, see also planefag, boatfag, etc. Has nothing to do with sexuality, but refers to one who specializes in something, i.e. one who specializes in dividing the troops. I hereby withdraw the appellation as it applies to you. :) I understand your frustration with the charlatans, but I am sincere, and have seen it benefit patients. I have no interests, but have been privileged to facilitate treatment which has helped. With GBM, as GEOTUS said to the black folks, "what do you have to lose?"

The FDA/CDC is a fascist enterprise. They prevented companies from selling test kits in January, when contact tracing would have been effective, and continued to bar home testing long after.

14
LadyWhoLovesTrump 14 points ago +14 / -0

A very good friend of mine has it. They have lasted WAY longer than expected (was given 6 months to a year, has been a year and a half now). Most of the tumor was removed, chemo, radiation. Now we hope it does not grow any more. Fingers crossed.

One of my fiance's really good friends husband has this. He's like 40, he passed out and was having a really bad headache and went to the hospital. After the MRI they found the tumor and tried to remove most of it that day. He probably has months to live, this disease is so terrible.

Red37 6 points ago +6 / -0

McCain lasted a long time with a glio. When I started in healthcare about 10 years ago a glio diagnosis left you with six months max, usually closer to 3. We’ve made a lot of progress since then.

Pretty sick that treatments like DCVax have been in trials for 15 yrs, for glioblast (100% mortality) but we will see a vaccine for CCCP Flu in a matter of months! Even though it has a .0019 mortality rate. Priorities are based on who is making $$$ nothing else.

My sister was diagnosed with stage 4 glioblastoma 2 years ago at age 28. She was otherwise healthy. She had a rough time of it, is still with us, but will never really recover. She is a shell of her former self, it's really quite sad.

This is a terrible disease and thank you for posting this. I hope someday we can improve early detection and treatment of the disease. But as it stands right now this can happen to just about anyone and go unnoticed until it's too late.

FL2PC72LE 4 points ago +5 / -1

One of my two best friends died of this one year and 9 months ago. She was 52. She was diagnosed at 50 and the doctor told her, "do your bucket list." She tried everything, chemo, radiation, Avastan (sp?) CBD oil, everything. Nothing helped. It was like she aged a year every two weeks. She wasn't in pain, but it was still misery watching her personality and strength leak away. She was in diapers and a wheelchair that whole last year. She'd been a beautiful woman, tall, long hair, adorable bone structure... intelligent, cultured, educated... it just stripped her of everything.

We thought my mother in law had this until they biopsy what they thought was a mass but all the doctors said they were 99% sure. Turns out she has Tumefactive Multiple Sclerosis which they have not yet confirmed because this all started right before covid at the beginning of the year. To anyone this effect they are doing some amazing things at several hospitals around the country. We saw the doctors at DUKE in Durham NC and man they have come a long way in the knowledge and treatment of the condition so do know there is hope. Also THANK GOD FOR THE RIGHT TO TRY!! And the free market that pushes pioneering of new treatments for deadly conditions.

This is the type of cancer that killed my mom in 2012. It started in her frontal lobe, so by the time we realized something was wrong, she was gone. Her body lived for three more weeks, undergoing brain surgery, for nothing. The blank smile she adopted during this time will haunt me forever. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

Sickened TrumpCoatBot creator

Killed McCain

Is there a way I can simultaneously sincerely root for the TrumpCoatBot creator's health AND commend Glioblastoma's service to our nation for taking out McCain?
