A formerly Democrat-voting friend of mine recently said that his home city of Seattle had gotten so bad that his family was considering moving. He also predicted that Seattle would inevitably become the next Detroit. I want to stress, he used to be a "default liberal", but recent events have really altered his world view pretty drastically.

It was kind of misleading to say that he used to be a Democratic voter, as he wasnt quite old enough to vote when he held those views, but he did admit that he would have voted if he was old enough to vote. The import thing is now that he's older, he's wised up.
There are several New Detroits on deck. NYC and Chicago among them.

Seattle is becoming something entirely different. Detroit is not a good comparison at all. Seattle and Portland are just crazy town. Detroit was decimated the same way many other rust belt cities were when manufacturing left overseas.

Seattle has been going downhill for 20 years at least. I predict that will continue.
Well he better not vote the same way as he did in Seattle or the next place he goes will turn into one. He should be informed this as well. In large letters.
He should be made to live out his years in the shithole he and ppl like him created. What will happen is he will move somewhere that doenst have the liberally created problems but will keep voting the same way.

By recently not-so-liberal friend from Redmond says that there is a running joke for a while that the way Seattle is going, everyone with a bit of sense would move to Redmond, and was hopeful the property prices there would go up.
Now, he is not sure whats going to happen.
