A formerly Democrat-voting friend of mine recently said that his home city of Seattle had gotten so bad that his family was considering moving. He also predicted that Seattle would inevitably become the next Detroit. I want to stress, he used to be a "default liberal", but recent events have really altered his world view pretty drastically.

It was kind of misleading to say that he used to be a Democratic voter, as he wasnt quite old enough to vote when he held those views, but he did admit that he would have voted if he was old enough to vote. The import thing is now that he's older, he's wised up.
