As Andy points out, nothing really happens at all until 12 midnight or later. Usually they have a rally at Pioneer Square (which is the center of downtown basically) and then they walk the 4-5 blocks to the federal building and harass the feds for a good hour or so. when they start breaking shit and trying to barricade them inside that's when the feds come out to do crowd control.
they make sure to get a bunch of dumb obvious photo ops with the "moms" and other sympathetic looking "peaceful protesters" before the actual rioting begins. it's all a fucking clown show at this point and it might be time to use some kind of low grade organic napalm on these clueless violent fucks.
As long as the napalm was made on a farm no further than a thirty mile radius outside of Portland using organic practices it should be fine with the locals.
