It's even made its way here. I'm trying not to let it slide by on important issues, though I'm sometimes guilty of it myself.
The insidious, yet insipid thing about Twitter is the power it gives to every blathering, partially baked idea from every blathering, partially baked idiot who can figure out how to make an account. It leads people to believe that every thought they have is important, correct and praiseworthy, and further that everyone's ideas are important, correct and praiseworthy.
Only the ones who's brain capacity is sub 140 characters. Honestly, if you have the bad luck to work with large numbers of under 25 year olds you can enjoy a fun game that I like to play. It's called the question game. Wait for the cutest little Twitter quip you've ever heard in real life. Then you ask them to express a logical thought behind it. Then they shit their pants and cry. It goes something like this....
Young lgbtbbq guy: "lame joke about right wingers not caring about any civil rights other than the second amendment and not coming to the defense of Portland vantifa"
Me: no one is being imprisoned without being charged and having a court date. If due process is being appropriately applied how are civil rights being violated?
Every twatter user thinks they are the main character in an MCU movie. I don't user twatter or cuckbook. I am happy not using it. My brain cells are not being fried reading quips and witty one liners all day.
It was a response to the posting style that never gets to the point. People making posts like they are writing a book and post 12 paragraph responses that no one will read. IMO they went to far in the other direction.
Fuck Twitter
But don't you care about 140 characters of vapid pandering?! It's the new discourse!
Reactions have to be some sort of "Yes" but with various spellings, capitalizations.
In Newspeak it's sort of like the difference between "good" and "double-plus good."
There can be no actual discussion, criticism, or genuine emotion. It must be a lukewarm, vague, comment of reinforcement.

Alright Taylor I'm gonna let you finish!
That's why emoji reacts are total cancer. The crying laughing emoji is the most insincere emoji out there.
Good point

Twitter promotes the powerless and divisive voices of society while silencing the powerful and uniting voices extending the truth.
