I'd like to see more of a focus on barring foreign nationals, particularly the Chinese, from owning property in the United States. Other countries have barriers to this because it's a national security concern. Obama all but gave away the port in Long Beach or wherever it was to the Chinese, one of the first things Trump did was take it away, and for good reason. How can anyone think that allowing China to take over the world's seaports is a good idea? We have can't foreign countries owning anything more critical that fast food restaurants and convenience stores. I find it interesting and telling that two of the most difficult places on Earth for foreigners to buy land are right next to China, Thailand and Vietnam. They don't want the Chinese or anyone for that matter buying up precious land and stealing from their citizens.

What I said is still accurate. The guy was asking about what made these parts from the article illegal, the answer is the trade embargo. If you can find how these parts from the article are illegal other than from the trade embargo I'm all ears.
These parts are not banned as part of that trade embargo, an embargo that was put in place after the Tiananmen massacre banned Norinco by name and AFAIK rifled firearm but has always allowed for smoothbore and firearm parts. It's not a full "arms embargo", shotguns are definitely arms (also arguably so are the many other weapons that are still imported from China like swords and crossbows).
This screenshot is from an article that came out last year which I had the impression from other articles are the time was due to not properly entering customs/paying import duties. There hasn't been any kind of newer embargo on AR-15 parts from China that are readily available for sale online or in probably thousands of gunshops across this country. While Trump has instituted further restrictions I'm not aware of any particularly on firearm parts.

I picture bodies in the streets, overwhelmed hospitals, completely shut down public services, supply chains, law and order, you name it. A god damn flu managed to get us half way there.
