IMO pulling out of Afghanistan would be a giant blunder for the Trump administration...it will go down the same way the pull out of Iraq went..Taliban and ANA is not powerful enough to stop ISIS resurgence ...doing a peace deal with the Taliban is disgusting ...

listen...I totally understand where y'all are coming from...in fact I used to hold the same opinion...I do not believe we need 100,000+ troops in Afghanistan like in 2010...what I am saying is that we should keep special operation forces there and a limited air support presence in order to prevent a insurgent group filling the void left by a complete US troop withdrawal, the force will be there to do Counter-terrorism and Foreign Internal Defense and provide air support to the ANA....we all understand that ISIS in Iraq was able to grow due to a US troop withdrawal, no one questions that....Afghanistan is even more of a hotbed for another ISIS to grow due to the geography of Afghanistan, Mountains are extremely rugged and remote....we cannot pull back from Afghanistan and the middle east in general and expect terrorist organizations not to grow and become more dangerous....I really do hope I am wrong on this, but if we leave, we will have to go back and more money will be spent than if we had just stayed in a very small limited capacity....when looking at history, when has isolationism actually worked? it hasn't...whether we like it or not the USA is the sole global super power and people want that to change and will try and hurt us at all costs...we must fight our enemies on their turf or it will be on ours....
