That’s my biggest gripe in all of this. We already have the right to keep our businesses open. Literally government’s entire job is just to protect our rights. That’s it. If we don’t want government protection, why must we close? We can defend ourselves if we want. If people attack us and we forgo government protection, then we should not be able to rely on government courts to redress damages.

Allow me to respectfully disagree and/or be nitpicky.
The job of government is to recognize citizens have God-given rights it can't infringe on or face replacement, violent or otherwise, and help the citizens who's rights are infringed upon by other entities, foreign and domestic (other citizens, businesses, terrorists, states, you name it.) Its job is to put on the books the rules of society so that citizens can refer to those written rules and seek justice in the event their rights are infringed on.
On the contrary, I think it's the job of citizens to protect their rights against anyone who would infringe on them (including government), and petition the government for help in protecting them through the justice system.
