Many opportunities are outcomes.

When parents scrimp and save to send their child to college, that opportunity was purchased with hard work and discipline. Turning around and giving that same opportunity to another child for free because his or her parents were lazy, undisciplined losers isn’t equality. It’s communism.

“Equality of opportunity” is a Trojan horse. Reasonable access to an acceptable quality of life is the only acceptable goal.
