The father will be lucky to get every other weekend. Mothers can shoot up and overdose in front of the judge and still get more than 50% custody. I'm really not even exaggerating that much. Family court should really be named "fuck fathers" court.
Fellow Okie dad here (but older!). I feel ya. I divorced my psycho ex when my son was 15 months old. Fought for custody. Should have been slam dunk, but judge just said "MOM".
Good news is, I made every visitation and then some. Changed jobs and moved several times to stay close. And was a good father to my son.
When he was 13 he made the choice to move in with me. He's 28 now, on his own, and a good son and man.
Concentrate on the relationship with your kids and teach them. It'll pay off!
