Whenever God ends a passage with "I am the Lord," I read that as his not-at-all-subtle way of saying "Don't fucking argue with me, I didn't stutter."

Pretty sure there was a small but meaningful event in a later book that may or may not have intended to free humanity from the old law. And let's not go down the exhaustive and near endless list of OT laws you do not follow nor ever would.
