Burn the coal,

Pay the toll?

Example: Jane Doe allowed her ghetto friends to abuse her son and post it on social media. The child's father found out, got full custody of their son, and Jane Doe and her child abuser friends have not been heard from in months.

Status: toll paid.

BTW, I'm just posting this because of its interest to me linguistically. I am not saying that I agree with the term.

I will say that anyone who abuses a child like that deserves whatever they get.
