Hey Pedes... I live in Redmond, WA and work in downtown Seattle. Since the pandemic began there has been a drastic uptick in crime downtown and the I know I can't depend on the SPD. Which is not really SPD's fault, its the elected marxists who have stripped them of all power to protect law abiding citizens. Since March I've dealt with multiple attempts by thugs trying to break into my truck and one attempted mugging. Luckily I was able to defend myself. However I've been trying to get a CPL since early March and King County is not accepting new registrations. I have also tried to get one from my local Redmond PD and they also aren't accepting new applications. They stated it's due to the required fingerprinting and possible COVID-19 transmission. I truly find it hard to believe they don't have any clorox wipes on hand to clean the fingerprinting device with after its been used. It sure seems like they're trying to keep us from protecting ourselves. I'm trying to follow state laws, but I'm not going to put myself or my family in danger by not carrying a firearm, or keeping it locked and unloaded in the back of my truck. Do you guys have any advice besides moving out of state?

Well we are an open carry state so there's that. Not that the solution is perfect but I suppose if enough people start open carrying they will have to get off their ass.
The attention that comes with open carrying in Seattle is less than ideal, but I get it... You'd think they'd prefer us to keep them concealed.
I have to second open carry. I believe King county is using China flu as an excuse. Clark county, for instance is still issuing and processing. Sorry, pede, you are in Washington's commie central and why I live in a rural county.
