Also, they claim kneeling isn't about the flag or the anthem, if it's not, do it some other time. I told my dad I wouldn't have a problem if they wanted to do it after the anthem for a few seconds. The better thing to do would be they get together, and pray about it and pray for black lives and pray for America. That would do more than kneeling during the anthem and pissing off a lot of people.
If there were no fans, and no tv to show the games, they wouldn't do it. It's mostly about attention.

I played in high school and loved playing, but you are right, it's just so boring to watch. It's bearable to watch in person, but it's mostly just the atmosphere, and even then it's still pretty boring

My dad's the same except with the SF Giants (he's mid 60s). Changes his answering machine for baseball season, puts up a Giants flag etc etc. Dude goes all out. I wish I could enjoy it on that level to bond with him further but I'd rather watch a play...an honest to god on stage PLAY...than MLB.
My dad doesn't go that all out. He doesn't do much different other than just watch the games.
I'd much rather visit a distillery and get some free samples, or go to a museum than watch MLB. Hell, I'm not much of an art fan, but I'd rather go to an art museum, than watch MLB, especially now that they've gone "woke."
I actually just visited the world's largest kite museum and learned a shit load about ww1-ww2 era kites. I was fascinated and have spent hours looking stuff up about them since. I've shared that information with my kids and we ended up building a box kite from plans from the museum. We've spent hours learning and exploring subject matter that (essentially) is totally irrelevant yet at the same time helped us all grow closer and have fun. That would have never happened while staring at the idiot box.
Told Wife. Wife says we are boycotting. (Huge Cubs fans that literally would plan weekend trips to go see the Cubs play in different cities besides seeing 7-10 games a year at Wrigley)

There's only like, 30 black MLB players at the highest level, if that, and they only make up like maybe 10% of the minor league players. Blacks just do not play baseball, they choose basketball or football 90% of the time.
Also, blacks aren't a huge percentage of their viewers either. Look at the people in the stands at most MLB stadiums and you won't find many black people. I went to a Cardinals game about 4 years ago, I swear there were maybe 40 black people in the entire stadium, the rest were white with some Latinos mixed in.
If I was hispanic, I'd be wondering why my life doesn't matter.
A slogan on the dirt or on a uniform will not solve racism. Throwing millions of dollars will no solve racism. If they really want to solve all the problems within the black community, send some of the black players into the black community to be mentors for kids. If these kids get a father figure, a majority of them will be much much better off.
But we all know it's not really about racism. They get shot by police for breaking the law, or trying to harm the officer, and they make up the racist excuse to get the police in trouble and to get them off the hook.
