It turns out his respectable demeanor was an extremely important ingredient, and that President Trump was well-served by a VP that doesn't draw a ton of attention to himself. I would bet most of us don't even know how VP Pence spends most of his time--I certainly don't! And that's easily able to become a good thing, if they use it correctly.

I think Pence was the perfect selection to go with Trump. Trump can be very bold with his language and doesn't really care too much about saying things in just the right way or engaging in political speak. He speaks his mind and that can come off as brash for a President (but, personally, I like knowing that what I see is what I get) - if he [correctly] thinks that Clinton and Obama are corrupt pieces of trash, he'll say it to their faces with all cameras on him. (Side Note: One of my favorite moments where Trump called it as it is back in 2016.) But Pence does engage in a little more of the political dance and can kinda counterbalance Trump's mannerisms. That being said, if Pence is being prepped to run in 2024, more and more official duties need to be turned over to him so his leadership qualities cannot be ignored by any news source.
