Hope this to isn’t too long. I live in a somewhat small town. Got stopped by a Deputy for driving 16 over the speed limit on the 4th in a pretty nice convertible sports car. I told him I was just out for a drive, but earlier I was at my house and heard a ton of cars honking nearby; not knowing if it was a impromptu 4th parade or an Antifa protest, I left with my daughter in the car to find out (it was a impromptu parade, the local libs cancelled the official one, it was fucking awesome). After that we drove to the rez to see if we could get some fireworks, where he got me.
As soon as I pulled over I put my hands up (convertible with the top down). I told him I had a CCW cause he could probably see a locked gun hard case in the back seat, but I also had a Remington TAC 14, grip facing up, pinned between my outer right leg and the center console, but I had a Glock 26 in my pocket too. What he couldn’t see was an ar15 pistol in the car “frunck”. I told him the parade was awesome (we actually drove in it too), I was glad it wasn’t an Antifa protest.
I hadn’t been stopped in like 20 years, he gave me a warning...
My husband spent most of our last day off cleaning his guns and making sure everything is in good order. He's also been going over the basics with me. I wasn't raised in a household with weapons of any sort and he's having to teach me, but I'm trying to catch up fast because we're about half an hour from PDX city center and if this shit moves past the West Hills we want to be ready.
VA pede here. I just can't help but think of the people that are "wishing a bitch would". You know what I mean? It will get nasty when that happens.

There is a riot scheduled in my town in MN for 7/25 also but my city's police force is pretty badass and I'm confident they'll do well.
