Especially in states where property taxes are through the roof and the majority of the tax bill goes directly to the schools. Give the residents a break.
"That money, that school, those jobs exist solely for the benefit of the children."
"This is going to be a teacher-oriented Department of Education. It’s not going to come from the top-down, it’s coming from the teachers up," - Joe Biden
Good on you. They'd test you positive, lure you into a hospital, drug you, and slap your ass on a ventilator before you knew what hit ya. Then once the check from Uncle Gubmint clears, you're done for.
In the meantime, if both of you created PGP keys, posted the public keys to be exchanged, encrypted a message to the other person’s public key with your private key, and posted the encrypted message in the same thread, you could exchange messages in complete secrecy and with complete certainty that you were talking to that user.
Alot of schools are at max enrollment because of the influx of illegals. My local elementary just built an entire building just for one grade. Hispanic enrollment has skyrocketed in the last 5 years. They've taken over one elementary entirely, and now are taking over the other one. Test scores plummet and it turns into a ghetto.
Get rid of illegals.
A lot of times they don’t. My Mom was a teacher in central TX. It is horrifying the pandering they do for illegals. At the end of the day, the reason everything is at max chaos is always the $$$$. Some superintendent somewhere is actually getting rich and profiting by the influx, so are the corps providing (free) meals, on and on. Everything always goes back to the $$$$.
Massachusetts teacher pede here. Hit me up. Licensed 5-12. Currently teaching Grade 8 Government and Civics. Can teach any history. Fully not indoctrinated.
Maybe I'm looking too far into this but Trump seems to be using every excuse in the book to just give people money that the government would otherwise piss away. Tax cuts, extended unemployment, stimulus checks, and now potentially school funding directly to student's guardians.
I can't say I'm against getting at least part of my taxes back.
It'd hardly scratch big gov but it would make a huge difference to the middle class. My personal guess is a lot of bundled benefits would melt away and be replaced by a huge pay increase if that ever happened. Hopefully also resulting in more competing health care and the like.
It’s either intentionally or unintentionally strong-arming the government into accountability. The value of what the average American tax payer sees in return for the money we put into the system is incredibly lopsided.
By returning this much money back to the taxpayer and taking it out of the system, it’ll convince even more people that the government machine is just used to enrich the few on the backs of the working class. The average taxpayer will be surprised by how much better their quality of life is when they get to keep their money, instead of funneling into the government “for the greater good”.
Why are they special? Why are those animals more equal than the others? Teachers, athletes, entertainers... They should all have access to the same unemployment programs us deplorables have, nothing more.
I've had this talk with my wife. After pointing out what low-risks children are and the 99.98% survival rate if you even catch corona anyhow - - the counter argument from teachers is the worry about their own health. To which I asked, what makes teachers more important than the menial laborers like grocery store baggers who've been working in person face-to-face with the public the entire goddamn time? "Why do teachers deserve a greater assurance of safety than bag boys?"
They can't defend that position.
What you've got with teachers by and large is a collection of rule-following, hand-wringing worry warts who've just had the privilege of working from home since April while still being lauded as essential. Any push-back against normal schooling is either cowardice or a have-your-cake-and-eat-it-too avarice & sloth.
Great points. When the teachers start whining about law enforcement, doctors, plumbers, power company workers, mechanics, cable workers, grocery workers, etc. having to go to work, maybe then I'll listen.
I would definitely stay home and teach my own kids if I was getting paid to do it! And what I mean by getting paid is keeping more of my own tax money. A penny saved is a penny earned!
They are getting paid this whole fking time for sitting at home...then make Leftist demands before returning to work...FUCK THEM...I will NEVER side with teachers ever again ...Underpaid my ass!!!!
I stopped siding with teachers after the ones in my state went on strike 2 times in a year. Big reason? They were against charter schools. They didn’t want the competition because they knew they would get crushed by charter schools because the majority of them sit on their asses all day long. Seriously, it’s insane the amount of teachers you would have that hand out a “packet” and say “Do this before the end of the semester.” That was it. No instruction, no learning. Just do this packet and hand it back in before the end of the semester. They did all this under the guise of “We care about our students” but folded like cheap suits after they got a pay raise and charter schools eliminated. Things they didn’t stay on strike for? Oh, just extra funding for better schools and technology. Fuck them.
Was just reading an article about rich people in New York City who are forming pods of children to be taught by hired tutors. What about the poor children in New York City? They don’t give a crap about them.
This is the big takeaway. I earn in the mid 40k range annually, but my health benefits are excellent. I teach kids to question everything and to be grateful that they're here in this country.
Our admin makes 99k-150k to walk around with Walkie-Talkies and make concessions to bad/violent kids while pushing any Democrat-approved socical flavor of the month.
Our admin salary starts at double what a teacher with 20 years in the system makes. They have less professional development requirements, no classes to teach (not the headmaster model), are contracted for only one month longer than teachers, and can be frequently out of the building for meetings/conferences without having a substitute to support teachers and students.
And then there's their ability to carry out personal vendettas on staff unchecked...
Yeah and it's not like the teachers this year will have to buy supplies for their classroom and for the kids like they say every year. They just need to pay internet (would do regardless) and make assignments on the computer lmao
The parents are going to need money to set up effective for at-home learning.
Shit, even the kids who receive breakfast and lunch from the school could use that money to buy their own food
I'm a teacher.
Fuck the unions, fuck the admin, fuck the teachers who are trying to keep us closed. Burn it all down and start anew. Let these education major dipshits compete against those of us who welcome merit pay and have a command of our subject matter.
Yes I should’ve specified teachers that want to shut down their own fucking schools. This certainly wasn’t directed to someone like you who actually gives a shit about the profession of teaching
I knew exactly what you meant and I take no offense at all. Education is about to face a culling and I couldn't be happier about it. Meme as you were, soldier.
Our POS school principal (FL) actually told us to vote for remote learning. Is that even legal?? And if they can't get out of face-to-face that they're going to try and get a waiver. Anyway, fuck them. Go to work. My wife is a NP and up to her ears in COVID cases all god damn day - and my MIL works at Publix at checkout. If my family is sacrificing then surely you can, too. I don't want America filled with a bunch of scared, stupid kids. Educating is the best investment we can make in our future.
If I’ve learned nothing else during this whole pandemic extravaganza, it’s that educators view both their profession and the education system to which they belong as non-essential.
Or, maybe funding should go back to the taxpayers.
If a full school day was collapsible into a two hour zoom call, as it was in the first half of the 2020 school year, then really we're just paying them to babysit.
I don't have any kids, so I'm basically watching tax dollars go to fund what exactly?
7 figures?? no, no way. I've served on a school board and there is no freaking way anybody in the system is making seven figures. Low six-figure salaries (100k to 150k) are for executive type positions (Principal, and in some cases asst. Principal) and state-level bureaucrats may earn in the 200k range, but that is rare.
Hell, the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES' salary is only in the 230k range.
I've seen many 6 figure, but 7 figures 😲!
That's organized crime as far as I'm concerned. A public school teacher should not be making that kind of money.
My friend who is a retired teacher, thinks there should be a lockdown until a vaccine is available....because it’s not fair she has to stay inside because she is high risk. School should be online only.
I was angry because she knows how much this has hurt me financially. I asked her if she would feel differently if her pension was cut. She said that was absurd. Teachers have been protected too long. That’s what’s not fair to me.
If your union dues funds BLM than you're endorsing an organization that wants to kill cops. You shouldn't be allowed anywhere near children. A once respected profession is now equivalent to terrorists holding our kids hostage. I think the president should fire every teacher who won't return to school. Give that money to the parents and bust that union up.
It should. Why should the unions get it. I lost my respect for the teaching profession when they accepted common core like sheep just for federal money.
My nephew is a high school teacher. He sold out and is a complete lefty, which he privately confessed to me in about 2015 was to "fit in", and get tenure. They live for tenure, who wouldn't? Get a deal that you're basically un-fireable? Oh heck yeah.
He's been all big on shutting down business, how dare you suggest it should be opened back up, you just want people to die! All that crap.
Given how self-centered he is, I'm pretty sure he'd have the opposite position if his personal income was threatened. Which of course it isn't.
Dems don't care about kids unless they can diddle em

Hollywood makeup. You see her without and she looks like an old man's foot.
Does this count as pedophilia?
...Can we count it anyway?
That's tax payer money anyway. Let it come back to the tax payer.
Especially in states where property taxes are through the roof and the majority of the tax bill goes directly to the schools. Give the residents a break.
It's not the teachers sucking up all the money.
It's the incredibly top heavy administrations in all of these schools. Many schools have a 2:1 ratio of admin staff to teachers, or worse.
Absolutely true. Teachers don't make enough. It's why we can't consistently get quality people to fill the positions.
That we'll pay college dropouts millions to throw a ball on TV while teachers and cops make pennies is tragic.
Edit: Side_of_Beef_Chucker is right though, it shouldn't come from taxes in the first place.
Not to mention the insane pay system in schools--no merit pay or bonus money to bring in high demand fields.
In what rational world does a PE teacher make the same as an AP physics teacher?

When he says "teachers", he means the teacher's union.
The DoE needs to be student-oriented.
If you need more cyber teachers, DM me. I’m licensed K-5 and lost my job because I refuse to cuck out and submit to testing.
Good on you. They'd test you positive, lure you into a hospital, drug you, and slap your ass on a ventilator before you knew what hit ya. Then once the check from Uncle Gubmint clears, you're done for.
FYI no DMs on TD.w
Oh, I thought we did have private messages.
Seems like we could sure use them.
In the meantime, if both of you created PGP keys, posted the public keys to be exchanged, encrypted a message to the other person’s public key with your private key, and posted the encrypted message in the same thread, you could exchange messages in complete secrecy and with complete certainty that you were talking to that user.

Sounds like mid to south texas
Do they know English? I hope to God they are teaching English, otherwise they are setting those kids up for failure if they plan to stay in the US.

show me the way. I could use a DM too. I'm a HS teacher endorsed for English & History.

The free market strikes again!
School choice would fix these public school problems real quick. May the fittest teachers/schools survive.
Yea, pay roll tax decrease would be the one that hurts big Gov the most.
It'd hardly scratch big gov but it would make a huge difference to the middle class. My personal guess is a lot of bundled benefits would melt away and be replaced by a huge pay increase if that ever happened. Hopefully also resulting in more competing health care and the like.
Well.. the difference is with a payroll tax decrease, the money just never goes to gov in the first place.
With a stim check, they get it, borrow some, and send some back to you.
It'd be more difficult for gov to borrow if their income is cut.
That would have been better than stim checks and cares act. People would have incentive to work, covid would have passed by like the weak virus it is

They don’t wanna go back to work because they hate trump and they think this is gonna ruin his chances at reelection that’s the bottom line.
I would definitely stay home and teach my own kids if I was getting paid to do it! And what I mean by getting paid is keeping more of my own tax money. A penny saved is a penny earned!
millions of homeschoolers do this -- they pay for books, resources, etc. while STILL being forced to pay for the government schools via taxation.
Compulsory schooling is slavery. (especially with the mandatory "volunteerism" requirements for graduation). De-fund the schools. Restore freedom.
They are getting paid this whole fking time for sitting at home...then make Leftist demands before returning to work...FUCK THEM...I will NEVER side with teachers ever again ...Underpaid my ass!!!!
It gets even worse.
Teacher's Unions are overwhelmingly of one political leaning and are incredibly powerful.
You may not have noticed, depending on when you were in school, but in the past ~20 years teachers work harder when a democrat is in office.
During bush the BOE handed out half days and days off like they were candy. During Obama? almost no half days at all.
I've listened to teachers admitting this is intentional to cause education stats to look worse under republican presidents.
These fucks care more about making a president look bad than doing their job and they have for over two decades.
I was shocked to hear that my sister-in-law makes twice what I do just to have story time with some 10 year olds and have nothing to grade.
I stopped siding with teachers after the ones in my state went on strike 2 times in a year. Big reason? They were against charter schools. So many teaching degrees are from indoctrination camps, just like any other college level degrees.
Seriously, there are alternatives to choose from.
Was just reading an article about rich people in New York City who are forming pods of children to be taught by hired tutors. What about the poor children in New York City? They don’t give a crap about them.
Please do not forget the Admin. If they do not expand their budgets they have less power.
This is the big takeaway. I earn in the mid 40k range annually, but my health benefits are excellent. I teach kids to question everything and to be grateful that they're here in this country.

Poor teachers. Maybe they should learn to code.
Many high schools have eliminated the very programs you're referring to.
Don't send in your school tax bill until SCOOL CHOICE is made a RIGHT
Does tht mean, I with no kids, can get back some money?
As a teacher I'm 100% OK with this. Instead our disorganized, PC county wants to implement a 7hr, fully-online schedule for KIDS.
Yeah and it's not like the teachers this year will have to buy supplies for their classroom and for the kids like they say every year. They just need to pay internet (would do regardless) and make assignments on the computer lmao
The parents are going to need money to set up effective for at-home learning.

Please, Trump.
Please let school choice be a thing.
It would almost make my property taxes worth it if I at least paid for other people's kids to get a decent education.
Almost.
More worried about the Children than the teachers tbh.
A whole generation of mentally damaged and under-educated kids.
I'm a teacher. Fuck the unions, fuck the admin, fuck the teachers who are trying to keep us closed. Burn it all down and start anew. Let these education major dipshits compete against those of us who welcome merit pay and have a command of our subject matter.

the destruction of our civilization
Exactly. So let's defund that shit and I'll got ahead and take my cut back.
Ho ho, Hey Hey, You do no work you get no pay.
Here in Gwinnett county we are 100% digital and teachers are raising hell because they have to stream from their classroom.
Disgusting.
Countless teachers are retired and making 6 figures, it will blow your mind if you look into it.
This is how they spend your tax dollars.
TEACHERS EARN 6-7 FIGURES STRAIGHT OUT OF COLLEGE. ITS RIDICULOUS.

Check it out for all those who's schools are online only for the fall. Has public options in a lot of States.
Actually the k12 on,one curriculum is a globalist indoctrination curriculum delivered to your children at home. There are much better curriculum out there than this one. See our research. And we are retired teachers and know first hand https://aim4truth.org/2020/07/14/exposing-betsy-devoss-plan-for-totalitarian-public-education/

I want my property taxes back thanks.
Here here!
Demoncrats don’t want kids to go to school cause they want kids to be dumb so they can manipulate their “new world order” without any effort.
The whole Coronavirus was fake news created to make our children DUMB. Fight for our CHILDREN!!!!!!! ALL SCHOOLS MUST RE-OPEN NOW!!
Replace the teachers with COMPUTERS....
It should. Why should the unions get it. I lost my respect for the teaching profession when they accepted common core like sheep just for federal money.
DO IT
State-funded grifters are pissed they can’t grift?!

GOD I've been waiting for someone in power to say that. POTUS will do! XD
Redirect my property taxes to charter schools tuition if public schools do not reopen.
Congratulations! You've made your jobs redundant!
