I live in Oregon. I was born and raised in Oregon. I am NOT okay with this communist faggot shit. I don’t live in Portland thank God, but what’s happening there is disgraceful. My experience living out there for a bit was that once you got outside of Portland/Eugene it’s pretty based. I’m sure it’s true of the other bigger cities in the state too. It was always funny in Eugene to see the mix of old VW bugs/busses and lifted pick up trucks. Fucking gorgeous state though, an outdoorsman’s paradise. I would have stayed but it was just too far from family on the east coast.
Except for the coast and especially Ashland. Hippie commune. Beautiful area, but jeebus... always felt like I was in the real life South Park “Prius” episode where they go around sniffing their own farts.
I've been all over the US and never experienced anywhere as insanely liberal as Ashland.
I spent ten years on the coast and it doesn't come close. I've been to Toronto and THAT doesn't even come close to the insanity of Ashland. Most people I knew avoided it like a plague, especially during the two week psychic fair. Considering how far left the rest of the world has gone, I can only imagine Ashland has become the actual gates of hell.
I would say that the little coastal town of Yachats is even worse than Ashland, at least in my experience. There is also the even smaller community of Deadwood, which is home to an actual commune. Plenty of actual communists there.

There’s an article about it a bit further up the thread. His name was LaVoy Finicum.
Technically, he wasn't unarmed. Finicum and a couple of other people were trying to reach the next county where the sheriff wasn't compromised when the were ambushed by the feds. He got out of the truck, the feds shot him and that's when Finicum pulled out his gun to try to defend himself.
I remember the video from what I believe were a couple girls in the car with him at the time. The car was being peppered with bullets(from the girls cell phone video). The car ran off the road, he tried getting out, said he was reaching for his gun but the video(from a helicopter) was so bad it was really hard to tell but you see him just drop after only making a few feet from the car.

He was definitely murdered. In the video you can see the FBI rounds impacting the truck as he exited with his hands up. The FBI then lied about it and tried to hide the evidence.
He never pulled a gun. He ducked down as the FBI was firing on him, and they claimed that he was reaching for his gun. When I watch the video it almost looks like he took a round, which caused him to bend down.
Technically, you're correct. Whatever he was doing he never had a chance to finish the movement before he was murdered. So while he might have been reaching for his gun, he never had a chance to actually remove it from the holster.
I just watched the video again and whether he is reaching for his gun is a matter of interpretation of his actions. But it's irrelevant. He got out of the truck with his hands up and the FBI started shooting at him first. It wasn't an attempted peaceful arrest. It was an execution and Finicum was well within his rights to defend himself. He died a man and a patriot.
