So when she wants something another child has, she knows how to get it. "HE CALLED ME A NAME!", she wails working up a god theatrical cry. On cue, the adult dutifully punishes the accused without question, and the lesson is cemented in her mind. The playground jungle is ruled by she who cries first.
Years of public schooling do nothing to contradict her theory. One cry of "Teacher, he hit me!", and she gets the swing set all to herself. A wail of "he stole that from me" and the lunch room supervisor hands her another child's snack. All the way through college it works. "I was drunk and he groped me" she cries pointing at the guy who dared to not call her to ask her out after the party. That will teach him.
Then she graduates and accuses her way into politics. She accuses her primary opponent and wins. She accuses her general election opponent and wins. So now there she is standing in the center of Congress, the professional scold accusing more than half the country of being bad people and demanding that we all be sat in the corner and made to give her whatever she wants.
