Watched a documentary called DON'T PANIC (2013) https://youtu.be/FACK2knC08E
Statistician Hans Rosling discusses world population growth and argues that improving prosperity in developing nations is driving down the birth rate and simultaneously increasing the female survival rate. Lots of cool graphics.
About 30 minutes in he address global poverty and uses an example of how something as simple as a bicycle can lift a family out of extreme poverty and put them in a much better situation.
It occurred to me that even if he's optimistic about stabilizing birth rates, donating bikes to people is a do-able way to help improve the quality of life for many families.
Cool! I'll look into it.
I'm looking at bike charities. So far I like this one which matches medical workers with bicycles.
Indeed.
