Yeah, that's really scary. If the local governments start coming after people like that, then they are nothing more than enforcers for an oppressive regime.

please explain so i can understand your comment and context here - my understanding of a republic is that we have elected officials instead of direct government by the people and can't wrap my head around what your comment means
