It going to happen no matter what. Shutdowns just delay and prolong it while also creating economic destruction. The world would need to shutdown for a month including essential workers for it to "possibly" work. People travel, essential workers spread it no one can stop it. Let it spread and let biology do its work. Herd immunity is probably why New York City is doing better now and the states that spiked will be better in the long run.
