I do a weekly Facebook Live broadcast for my company. Our little garden center in Middleofnowhere, WV averages 1,000 live viewers to listen to me ramble on about bean rust.

My fellow pede, forgive my urban ignorance, but what is bean rust?

It is a fungal infection of green beans that causes brown lesions. The lesions can harbor other pathogens making infected beans unsafe to eat or preserve. The best treatment is antifungal sprays or periodic copper dust applications.

This is definitely more interesting than the kid-sniffer.

Take an Instant Pot, add some sliced kielbasa to the bottom, pile in a head of shredded cabbage, add a generous amount of pepper, a tablespoon of butter, and a splash of water (for steam). Cook for 10 minutes under pressure. Serve with some homemade Irish Soda Bread. Delicious!

Um, bro I would watch this. I like finding random stuff I would otherwise never ever learn. History and Discovery used to be good for that but now it’s mostly reality garbage and the guy with the crazy hair talking about aliens.

Don't diss the "space aliens" guy, he was great for memes.

Then I feel you would like a guy named Steve1989 on YouTube who eats old MRE’s! It’s fascinating ,educational and sometimes disgusting.. Trifecta!!

I don't want to violate rule 6 so if you search for the top young plant growers in the US, you can go from there.

Pede, I don't know what bean rust is either, but if you hit them with a shot of WD-40 you should be good to go.

Naval Jelly? Don't use it as a personal lubricant, tho.

It happens when you have unprotected sex with a blue haired liberal college girl.

What should I do when my tomatoes grow so fast they start to split a little? I usually grow smaller ones, this year I went with Cherokee Purple, or Warren Purple, depending on the nomenclature.

8
RealRedneck 8 points ago +8 / -0

That usually happens if you've had dry weather followed by rain. About the only thing you can do is pick them early when you notice splitting and let them ripen off the vine. You can set green tomatoes on a table stem end down to ripen.

I didn't know that about the stem-down thing...thank you very much!

MustangManny 3 points ago +3 / -0

Thank you, I've had that problem with tomatoes, usually a white fungus grows in the split.

You can also put them in a paper bag to surround them with their own ethylene emissions. To speed it up you can add fruits that give off even more ethylene like a banana.

4
RealRedneck 4 points ago +4 / -0

Yep. Ethylene is also responsible for flowers blooming. When we ship flowers by truck, we sometimes use a product that absorbs ethylene.

Ease off on the water once they start producing heavily.

I streamed me doodling in mspaint with my eyes closed, with an oven mit on my mouse hand and had more viewers.
