Not anymore. They were initially given a multi-billion dollar loan by the Us government, but they paid it back with interest. Trust me, I used to be against Elon and talk about the subsidies, but the more I learn about him, the more I see that he is truly the only explorer alive today.

And he sees the importance of the American spirit in what he is doing. He understands what it’s like to be an American, which is important.

It’s true, that electric vehicle purchases are still given tax incentives, which can be seen as subsidies, but Tesla is making moves to make their cars even cheaper and cheaper.

They just released the Model Y and already dropped the price by $3k for basically no reason. And in September they’re announcing new battery technology that will make their cars cheaper and more efficient. They’re either going to double the mileage capacity of Tesla’s or cut the battery size in half while keeping the same mileage. September is going to be a very cool time for electric cars.
