Let me tell you why from the perspective of a half black, grown-ass man with lots of world experience this is true.
The left is full of lies, full of liars and a history of lying. "vote for us and we'll help you out".
Go check my recent comments and I just responded to someone who said Trump is a great businessman because he conducted hundreds of deals, and people kept coming back to him, because they knew --> (key part) his word was good.
Why is that important?
Because when you live in poverty, or lower-income, welfare, you just don't have much to give in terms of goods or money, then all you have is your word. "Word is bond" is a common phrase from the black communities, and while it sounds rather forgettable in the moment to outsiders, it means "this is my truth, I am telling you this is what is real, I am putting my reputation on it". Even without that phrase, all you have is your reputation and you better not fuck that up because word spreads.
So when we see "Promises Kept" and someone who says he's going to help HBCUs, reform prison/sentences (remember the woman Kim K helped get out of prison?), Opportunity Zones, and more income for everyone while bringing US companies home.. that's proof he's working for us.
Then you look at how BLM's said everyone needs to vote for change, and the smart people from everywhere said "ahh, your Dem cities are the problem. You have a history of lies and not delivering..so we're gonna vote out your Dems". This is a prime example of how you lose support (Dems) and gain support (Trump) and it's by actions. It's not actions in the last 4 months because BLM showed up again.. we saw RIGHT through that.
Trump has kept his promises, and the minority communities know that the Dems are the ones in the way of more progress. We also dislike being treated like morons who are unable to take care of ourselves.. we all want hands held to help us up, not just help out in the moment.
The number of campaign promises Trump has kept and achieved in just his first term is unbelievable to me. I thought the political process is fucked, that no thing substantial could actually be done. Time and time against Trump proved me wrong. If you told me all the things hes achieved back in 2016 I really wouldve thought you were off your rockers.
The only thing Trump has disappointed me on is the deficit, it's gotten larger, and we're on track to having added as many trillions of $$ as Obama did in his eight years in only four years.
That's my biggest criticism I have for him and honestly didnt even think he was conservative when he ran in 2016. He also never really promised to lower the deficit did he?
I remember him running on taking out NAFTA, TPP, "what have you got to lose" (for the black community, the f'ing balls man), pro 2A, law and order, economy/manufacturing, border protection, China, and you knew he was anti PC culture, off the top of my head.
Pretty much fulfilled every major promise and then some which was no small feat.
I think he did promise to lower the deficit. To be fair, I remember it slowing down before the COVID debacle, but still we need to lower our spending even more. For example, we're investing trillions into defense of countries on the other side of the world (like Scandinavia)

I can't think of a single "politician" that has actually worked to keep promises in my lifetime, let alone a POTUS.
