"Trump is only passing obamas policies." ??? xD I've been watching very closely as President Trump COMPLETELY ERASES every Obama policy he can and I haven't been disappointed at all: not even a little.

20
GoldenPotatoRequiem 20 points ago +21 / -1

Well I think he meant that Trump is actually doing all the things that Obama promised (aside from obamacare ofc)

-1

They had the House and Senate....

AND DID NOTHING!

Fucking AMAZING that they want us to believe they're Patriots. Take a look at the letters R and D. Notice something? In every R, there is a little D. They're just Democrats draped in an American flag and we're supposed to clap because they still like the flag.

Traitors get bullets! All of them!

18
border_humper 18 points ago +19 / -1

I’m looking at you, Paul Ryan.

12
Modus_Pwninz 12 points ago +13 / -1

It's all of them, actually.

5
BoughtByBloomberg2 5 points ago +5 / -0

Any economic plan needed 60 Senate votes. Same with all budget votes.

They had the House, which was cucked as fuck, and they had the Senate by one vote, which meant the Democrats could basically stone wall the purse.

Do not take this as an endorsement of Republicans. They are absolute trash. But they are not actively trying to destroy a nation. They are just letting the Democrats have a swing at it.

3
CraniometricSunray 3 points ago +4 / -1

They needed a super majority in the house in order to get those passed when he tried to redo obummercare.

2
Modus_Pwninz 2 points ago +3 / -1

You're right. Best to not even try to get anything done!

1
BestTimeToBAlive 1 point ago +1 / -0

This is important.

We need to be looking closely at senate and house candidates that need our help in this election as well as of course Trump. We need as many strong Rs as possible.

1
BananaWizard 1 point ago +4 / -3

They did not have the house and sentate. They barely had the senate and had the house. It would have been pointless. Stop being a retarded shill. If we went nuclear and lowered it to 50, the second the dems took power we'd be under communism.

5
Modus_Pwninz 5 points ago +7 / -2

You don't just get to call anyone you disagree with a shill. I'm clearly not.

#3 is really the big one. It's massive really. It means that if pharma wants to stay profitable they need to ratchet up the prices on "socialized" systems, which will send "muh social medicine" spiraling into bankruptcy u less they seriously cut the already slim benefits.

No more free lunch on the American dime.

6
_Sully_ 6 points ago +6 / -0

Oh shit, I was thinking the other way but your explanation makes way more sense. I know Pharma uses the US to have super high prices that enable cheap in other countries. I think you are right. This will force prices to go up everywhere but here.

My girlfriend has severe thyroid issues. She pays out the fucking ASS for her meds just to marginally control her weight so she doesn't balloon to 300 lbs. (she did before i met her)

Combine that with the fact that for several years she was called lazy, liar, stupid, etc from these "very smart doctors" until finally one said "you know what...lets look at this."

I'm glad she was able to find out the right doctor but keeping in mind she makes less than $15/hr, her thyroid medicine changes almost monthly so she is constantly changing doses...bro she out here dyin' and sheittttt.

10
BeBest 10 points ago +11 / -1

Thyroid meds are relatively inexpensive, but having to get tested every six weeks will set you back quite a bit. I'm glad she was able to find someone who finally took the time to do the correct tests.

3
deleted 3 points ago +3 / -0
2
ReligionOfPoop 2 points ago +5 / -3

They are not relatively inexpensive, I can assure you that, and especially not on less than $15/hr, with the constant appointments and changing in doses.

Just focusing on medication costs with her thyroid condition and conditions from it, though, they are not near "relatively inexpensive."

7
BeBest 7 points ago +8 / -1

My apologies. I meant that the meds themselves are relatively inexpensive, but the doctors' visits and bloodwork absolutely add up.

-Source - 20+ years hypothyroidism

3
BeBest 3 points ago +6 / -3

My last 6-week round of tests "cost" $500, with a $400 insurance "discount, and the rest to be paid out of pocket. Medical "insurance" is a racket.

2
ReligionOfPoop 2 points ago +4 / -2

Don't apologize, you have no need to. But I still disagree with you. I know what she pays for her medication, and while "relatively inexpensive" is subjective, I can only assume you make a much higher salary than <$15/hr to refer to them as such.

Again, you've done nothing wrong, so don't apologize.

Drug prices are an absolute nightmare. This is going to save so many people so much money, it's crazy. In the end it will more than likely have a bigger long-term impact than tax cuts. THANK YOU, PRESIDENT TRUMP!!!

13
RocketSurgeon22 13 points ago +14 / -1

The career politicians are gonna get their asses handed to them by big pharma. No more paychecks for them!

Keep in mind everyone, before Trump, our social health programs such as Medicaid and Medicare, only allowed "brand" drugs. That means big pharma could raise the price which we pay and what the social programs pay. We paid high price, high taxes to cover their subsidies and barely afford to save money.

This also allowed other countries to pay less as well for their universal healthcare programs.

They've been ripping the US middle class off for decades.

This is such a universally good thing. This is exactly what people of all points on the political spectrum, liberal and conservative, have been demanding for years.

SURELY...this is the unifying moment...this is the one thing that everyone can agree is good and be positive about, right?

Trump signed the fourth order, but said he was holding it until Aug. 24 to give the industry time to “come up with something” to reduce drug prices. Drug company executives are scheduled to meet at the White House on Tuesday, he said. Somehow I have a feeling pharmacy executives are frantically putting together a package that will enrich Trump and family personally and this fourth order will not progress.

Not just Obama, this goes all the way back to GWB. Back in 2005 drug prices were already skyrocketing to the point of unbearable misery. I was helping family members and friends sign up with online Canadian pharmacies because they were 1/3 the price of US pharmacies.

The biggest cost difference came from the fact that in Canada I think you can make a generic after only 3 years while in the US they hold the exclusive rights for the full 13. Don't quote me on the year ranges, it's been a while.

15 years later, I can only imagine how much it has been inflated and abused.

9
Junfatboi 9 points ago +10 / -1

Really smart move to preempt leftists, because "mUh hEaLtH CaRe" is a major trojan horse they try to use to gain votes and implement communism. Meds wouldn't cost so much if the rest of the planet paid market rates for them.

The pharma companies have to raise our prices sky-high to cover costs. Turns out developing meds is expensive and people have wages.

1

What needs to happen next to drop the cost of development is reform of FDA regulations. Cut some of the fat out of that, and development prices will drop too!
