"the guy" is Dave Portnoy. He has a huge and diverse following through Bar Stool Sports and his newest gig (Pizza). It was more like a genuine conversation than a scripted interview like all the others- totally refreshing and kudos to Dave and his Dad- who showed that he was a true gentleman.
It was definitely not a waste of time. It could easily gain Trump some new support from even a small portion of the large Barstool fanbase, and it certainly won’t cost him anything. And the relatively even talking time only made it seem more like a conversation, rather than an interview, which in my opinion was a positive. I’ve had more than enough media interviews that turned into gotcha shitfests almost immediately.
Dave has a really big following of millennials & young 30s. I think this was a smart move for POTUS, bc it will def introduce him in a different light to a younger audience who may be surprised by how human and funny he is.
I know what you mean it wouldnt get you an A+ in journalism school. But I think it was good entertainment in a different way. Kinda like how a between the legs shot in tennis isnt best practice but still entertaining as fuck when it works well. Which this interview did. For Trump this is a great normal calm interview for older people. Young people love Trumps comebacks but like my old man and Daves they think he is a dick and not presidential but this shows its because the interviewers are rude to him and he hits back (He actually says this is one of his rules in think big and kick ass)
Jimmy Fallon had a fun, mostly non-political interview with Trump in 2016. The left crucified him over it and accused him of "normalizing" Trump. They wanted him to ambush Trump with a bunch of loaded "gotcha" questions.
And I just saw on CuckTube a Fallon segment mocking Trump’s cognitive ability. I only clicked to see how messed up Fallon would look and that portion did not disappoint...believe me folks. TDS has taken its toll.
I used to hear that a ton in 2016...I think I would even say it. I don't think I really believe it anymore. Optics are constructed for a cultured viewpoint.
I think with the NBA coming back, as a volunteer policeman & another larger than life guy, a sit down between Trump & Shaq would be amazing.
Also, Joe Rogan should interview Trump. He’s got to go to places where they’re neither all in or totally hostile to him. Let Trump be Trump with other American icons.

Dave Portnoy is the Trump of sports show hosts (personality wise). A straight shooter with a CONSERVATIVE approach to everything which is why I doubt he’s “apolitical” as he says.
This is a fantastic interview. President Trump is so funny, brilliant, strong and above all, HONEST. He says what he means, and means what he says.

Exacly. 44 would go on all the late night talk shows and do that circuit. President Trump should do the same.
