I grew up in Dekalb County under a lot of the Cynthia Mckinney bullshit. My parents worked hard and bought a house in a good neighborhood in North Dekalb...
Only to see all their property taxes go to fund mega schools in "under privileged communities"in South Dekalb. I remember distinctly when we performed concerts in band we were on our old gym floor with our banged up instruments- when we went to the county competition I was absolutely blown away with their facilities and equipment. They had an actual theater with a huge stage in a massive hall and all brand new instruments. My jaw dropped. The had theater style padded seating and we were on chairs from the cafeteria with our parents in the wooden bleachers.
M2M bussing existed in our system as well, until it was shown that it was exceeding the 50% integration level and was sued out of existence.

Just a little story of Dekalb privilege...
