Instead of a moat, let's call it a lazy river. We can connect it to the commie cities and the lazy commies will all just float south of the border and float away for good.
516 is scheduled for construction. I think the entire border is around 1000 or so. I don't see the point in building anything expensive over natural border walls like mountains.
Nah you are better reinforcing and maintaining the first 500 miles. The Rio Grande is hard to cross and mountains can be more difficult than a wall so why bother.
A lot of the border does have a lot of "natural deterrents" like rivers and steep mountains. They aren't 100% airtight, but they do naturally deter crossing, and they do naturally slow the speed with which someone could cross, and limit the amount(and types, children/old folks would have a harder time) of people that could 'easily' cross.
So this first 500+ miles is targeting all of the areas where most of the crossing occurs or where crossing is easiest. Pushing any potential crossings to harder/more dangerous paths.
I think after 500 miles they are meant to re-evaluate, see the new trends for crossings, and then throw down another 50 or so miles.
If Trump gets 4 more years, the house, and the senate....then there is always potential to green-light future funds for future construction. Then they could take a look at those 'natural barriers' and possibly put wall/some kind of construction on those areas....just to make it THAT much harder for people to cross there.
This is a reasonable take, hit the easy sections first and then reevaluate. If the % is down severely and there’s only a few small areas that are problems still, like you said it may only take 50 miles.
Indeed...and frankly, everyone on the border who talks about the wall speaks to how valuable and effective every mile is. Every mile of wall makes border patrol that much more effective, and maximizes the efficiency of every border patrol agent...making more space more manageable. They are able to worry less in areas that have wall, allowing them to focus attention more to areas without well.
Every mile counts and every mile has cascading positive impacts. The value of slamming down mile after mile cannot be understated.
“I saw videos where people cut through the fence with steak knives.”
I told him: “Do me a favor. Take the sharpest steak knife you can find, and try to cut through a nail. If you ever finish, multiply that cut by 10,000 to come close to the man hours and energy it would take to cut through the steel posts in the border wall.
Good news, although an announcement of a nice 'even' 250 would have been nice. I imagine in the remaining week of July we'll get that extra 5 miles. There was a period of time where they were averaging slightly over 1 mile a day.
Let's get to 350 miles by election day! About 100 miles in about as many days would be a great thing!
No more crossing an invisible fence, squirt out a few kids, and demand everything free while we can't save 20 veterans dying every single day in this country.
Not trying to be a debbie downer but the Mexico Border is almost 2k miles longs. That means the wall covers about 12%. Seems like we need more time. How much of the border already has walls or has other impediments like Mountains checkpoints?
WALLS FUCKIN' WORK.
Yeah, dont hear anything about those large groups of friendly Central Americans approaching the border anymore
I know right? They suddenly disappeared, just like Biden in his basement.
Who 'da thunk it?
Masks work but walls dont.
Ask Vatican City
Wall builders we love you!
Are they on track?
I dunno but they about to get another 4 years to finish :)
Vote.
only need about 700-750 new miles of wall so i would say pretty good all things considered.
I need a moat in front of the first wall and landlines between the first and second wall. Only then will I be satisfied.
Instead of a moat, let's call it a lazy river. We can connect it to the commie cities and the lazy commies will all just float south of the border and float away for good.
Fuck all the rivers are closed here for tubing and you just made me sad :(
Let's import the Japanese giant hornets.
Actually maybe not.. I hate those things.
fuck that!
Sentry guns, job done.

Samsung do a nice range, battle tested in the Korean DMZ!
They're being diverted to use in DEMONkkkRAT cities when it's formally declared an insurrection.
Tactical anti-illegal alien surveillance drones would be cool too.
You have a link for that?
How many miles left to go??

Better safe than sorry.
After a certain point the cost to benefit ratio makes it better to spend that money on other things like more personnel

I mean they'll find a way. So let's just post some stuff over on the other side of the mountains and call it good.
I'll accept Skynet powered Robocops deployed with T-2000 gatling pistols.
I may have triggered someone with this messageA northern wall will probably be more important at that point.
Sea to shining sea is 1900+ miles.

The wall just got ten feet higher!
I love your hubby and I love you!

THE
WALL
Infrasture needed to destroy communism once and for all
MALL
Take that Ann Coulter
Can we get a map of the wall? It's always great to hear it's going up but a visual of how much has been built and where would be really valuable.

The wall goin up!

Saw it myself last year in Tijuana it's quite a sight but we need a hell of a lot more wall still
And God saw that it was good.
When God and Stoner got together, we got the AR-15.
When God and Trump got together, we got AMERICA.
You love to see it.
MODS: Banner idea, have a running total visual representation of the wall built as the header of the this site.
Take my Wall-NERGY!
Minus the mountainous areas what is the total fence length needed for the entire SW border?
It couldn’t be done, but he did it.
Id love a countdown showing the miles left.
Complete that Wall!! Complete that Wall!!!
---buuuttt mmuuhh caravans rreeeeeee !!
There should be landmines
I can only get so erect
Can we extend the wall up the west coast
BUT BUT A GUY ON /R/POLITICALHUMOR SAYS THAT WE ONLY GOT 3 MILES DONE
Put triple concertina at the top. Nobody should be climbing it so there’s no reason for anyone to get hurt.
those mental cases better not fk with our wall
Does anyone know
Id like to figure out the return. Bet it is awesome.

Trump builds the wall.
???
The Left guns down Americans trying to climb it.
Beautiful!!!!!!
Now I’m thinking those walls would be better served surrounding many of our own cities.
Now do Canada!
TRACK THE STATUS OF TRUMP’S BORDER WALL
