The marginal value of labour being zero means adding more workers to the workforce produces no more goods or services. This would lead to the eventual collapse of Capitalism when consumption exceeds production for long enough.
Going back to your farming question, the premise is capital would consolidate all productive land, there would only be industrial farming and the choice would be farm or starve.
At this point, the revolution happens and the farms become property of the state and now the govt. says farm or starve instead of the previous owners.
