I really think most of the protesters don't really know why they are there. They go because it is the "cool" thing to do go go down and chat the same slogans. I'm not sure if it's the same guy, though Seattle and Portland are only a few hours' drive from one another, so he could easily have been in each city. One of the streamers said that he was assaulted by Portland Antifa recently.

I try to check in every once and a while to see what is going on. Some of the more interesting things are the speeches they give. Those seem to happen early. Gives you a good idea of the mindset.
The mindless chants that usually follow get boring very quickly. The violence seems to happen only after the mindless chants go on for a while.
Exactly. I mute the stream when the chanting gets to be too much - but the speeches and the banter that you can catch lets you know exactly who you are dealing with (and the MSM will never report this!).

I think it is not even about protesting. These people are not working. They get $600 bonus each week in unemployment. Everything is closed down and canceled. They can’t go to a bar or night club. They are supposed to social distance. The only time you can get away with anything is when you claim to be protesting. In MN, we canceled almost everything, but if you went down to the George Floyd site it was like a small fair...there was ice cream for sale, grilling, dancing, art displays. And no one said a word.

From what Stephen Miller said on Tucker (yesterday, I think), the strategy in Portland seems to be to continue to defend the courthouse and make strategic arrests. It doesn't look like there will be any dramatic escalation on the Feds' part.
