As heroes like Columbus are once again vilified by the radical left, can anyone recommend a top quality or definitive book(s) on Columbus?

I don't know about definitive, but for sheer simple understanding... The World of Columbus and Sons by Genevieve Foster (Author, Illustrator)

This Home school classic sets out Colombus' life amidst the times he was living in.

Foster has written about Washington, and Lincoln in the same format. As informative for adults as for children as it places the life within the times and people he lived.
