Additional alternators would be better. The keydown contest CB afficionados often use multiple (sometimes locomotive) alternators on a big SUV/pickup motor to get 10 kw+ of RF.
I hadn't thought of additional alternators. I had been researching solar recently so that's the perspective I was looking at it from. So I guess if there is enough room under the hood, alternators would be a good option, if not, extra batteries and an inverter.

You'd still need inverters, if the RF gear doesn't operate directly on the alternator output voltage.
