Absolutely, really enjoyed watching the "hands off police" allow this situation to unfold until it escalated into gunfire and THEN they got involved. Kind of thinking this was foreseeable and AVOIDABLE if the law was enforced.

Rest assured someone will enforce the law if LE won't

You think we're going to prison? They can pry them out of my cold dead hands and that's what it's going to take. Fuck em all. Sad that they are going to pit the police against us. But the line is very clear. There is no grey area.

The alternative is the sjw mob and their lawyers put you away or change life as you know it? We will see who values their life more. Our founding fathers would be disappointed by such weak men. Men so unwilling to stand up not only for themselves but for all of those around them. Men actively encouraging others to bend the knee have no place In history. They will be swept away and killed by the same sjw mob, and forgotten even quicker. I choose to stand, I choose to fight. If their plan is to force a fight then a fight they will get.

Weremoose 10 points ago +10 / -0

We're not weaker. We live in much more complicated times.

Times which the men of the era foresaw, btw.

I'm curious whether or not the Austin Police were ordered to stand down and allow these people to block roads and break other laws to create chaos like they have in so many other liberal shitholes. Generally in these situations, the Police want to do their jobs, but are being handcuffed by the negligent local politicians.

3
MagaloriousMax512 3 points ago +3 / -0

Likely to be the case Austin politicians are super progressive.

105
Fullarr 105 points ago +105 / -0

Yeah but I bet he's gonna have trouble hearing

Suppressors should be fully legal nationwide. Not even with tax stamps. It's about not permanently damaging your hearing

44
Trumpsbigbrassballs 44 points ago +44 / -0

That’s how it is here in NZ. You need a license for a firearm but can buy as many suppressors as you like. A .22 rifle with a suppressor and subsonic ammo is a delight to varmit hunt with.

35
cook_does 35 points ago +38 / -3

In major cities in the us, there are a series of gunshot sensors installed in the streets that send notifications to the related dispatchers along with cameras near by to scan and deploy police. I think the only reason silencers are difficult to acquire in the us is because the detection system in inner cities would be as effective and joggers only motivation often to not commit a crime is the fear of being caught.

49
trumpdouble 49 points ago +49 / -0

I know what you're saying, but the hoops that one has to go through to aquire a silencer were in place long before gun shot detectors were installed in a few cities.

8
Fullarr 8 points ago +8 / -0

This is the truth

19
HuggableBear 19 points ago +19 / -0

Shotspotter has said many times that suppressors don't affect its accuracy. You have to use subsonic ammo for suppressors to really silence a round, and very few calibers even have that available, and none of them are commonly used in handguns.

9
Demonspawn 9 points ago +9 / -0

and very few calibers even have that available, and none of them are commonly used in handguns.

FYI: 230 grain .45 is subsonic in factory loads.

5
crusadetiem 5 points ago +5 / -0

Aw you beat me to it. Yup, nothing lacking in lower-speed kinetic operations if you’ve got mass.

3
Onlyherefor_T_D 3 points ago +3 / -0

147gr federal 9mm is subsonic as well.

Suppressors increase the velocity slightly so idk if that would bump it over the threshold, depending on elevation etc.

9
MrBlack 9 points ago +10 / -1

I'd be willing to bet that most of not all of these criminals have no idea how a suppressor works or the type of ammo they need to fully utilize it.

7
deleted 7 points ago +7 / -0
2
spicy_deluxe 2 points ago +2 / -0

.38 special isn't really relevant unless you're firing it from a lever action carbine. Suppressors don't really work in revolvers because of the cylinder gap. Except for the Nagant M1895 but you pay for the sealed cylinder gap with a really awful trigger pull.

NZ, outside of the cucked cities, is a beautiful and lightly populated place. It has its own idiosyncracies and annoyances but it is far away from most of the really big problems.

6
spaceforce_maganaut 6 points ago +6 / -0

What's the overall gun situation? Has your sjw PM disarmed the whole country by now?

1
Trumpsbigbrassballs 1 point ago +1 / -0

All centerfire semiautomatic rifles are banned. Limits on magazine capacity (the new shotgun I bought has a tube limited to 5 shells).

5
Bubbahax 5 points ago +5 / -0

I bought my son a Ruger 10/22 for his 21st birthday. That gun barely makes any noise with normal ammo.

1
Trumpsbigbrassballs 1 point ago +1 / -0

It sounds like an air rifle with a suppressor and subsonics. My son and I go out hunting at night with a spotlight for varmints and no hearing protection needed. We can whisper and listen carefully for animal sounds.

31
TrumpVictorious 31 points ago +31 / -0

It’s ridiculous how safety features of firearms like barrel shrouds or suppressors are the features most commonly targeted as “dangerous” by the anti-gun crowd.

30
Bilbobaggins 30 points ago +30 / -0

It’s dangerous for lawful owners not to have them, so, democrats make them hard to get because they don’t want us safe. Never forget: these people would have you and your families murdered if they had the means, and they would laugh the entire time.

I'm a decent shot with my gun, but hand me a Glock and I can't hit the broad side of a barn. No idea why. Dude buys a rifle because he thinks it's cool and doesn't practice with it, I'm not surprised he's worthless with it.

6
deleted 6 points ago +6 / -0
2
cusp-of-carabelli 2 points ago +2 / -0

I have the same problem with Glocks. There's a reason: The frame geometry is different than you might be used to. If you learned with any semi-auto Colt (M1911), Browning (Hi-Power 9mm), etc., you may have an issue getting used to the Glock angles. I don't remember what the difference in angle is, but I had that problem with my Glock 43. Wonderful pistol for carry, but I just couldn't shoot well with it. Ended up going back to the old school, S&W 360 five shot revolver (.357 Mag).

1
preferredfault 1 point ago +1 / -0

I think part of the stuff driving it is local governments have shot-spotter systems in cities, that allow them to pinpoint the location of shots fired and even identify the type of gun used. While suppression isn't quiet, it does probably limit the ability of these systems to pinpoint shots and identify the type of gun used. So they want guns loud, so they can be pinpointed and identified more readily.

Sadly, Austin (Travis Co) is owned by democrats. This poor guy will see charges. That’s why I refuse to set foot in Austin if I can at all avoid it. 1 - I refuse to contribute to their tax base in any way. 2 - They are overrun with rioters and addicts, the chances of being in an unavoidable armed conflict is MUCH higher, and if you DO have to draw and defend your life, there is no way as a white man you will not see charges.

Now if I were a darker color I would be confident carrying in Travis County, or Bexar, or Harris or Dallas or Tarrant. But since I’m white, I avoid.

$5 in bullets, millions saved in damages.

Each business in that area should chip in and send him a box of ammo as thanks.

26
Barthaneous 26 points ago +27 / -1

I've been saying it.

Throwing rocks is a crime. It is in fact a weapon. If you throw rocks you deserve to be shot on site. If you throw anything you deserve to be shot on site.

No one who throws projectiles of any kind to do good. Or to do peace or to be nice. It's always violent and always the spirit behind it is for hurting someone.

SHOOT ON SITE.

And any politician, lawyers, Judges who use their power to allow such vile rioting to continue and prosecute patriots from defending themselves and others by breaking the 2nd amendment because of more recent laws need to removed from office and put in prison as traitors.

12
jennyfrutex 12 points ago +12 / -0

That's no exaggeration, either. You throw a rock hard enough, hit someone the right way, you can actually kill them. Remember the milkshake thing? - the cement thing? - those acid attacks in London?

So in conclusion: don't attack people, especially with weapons. If you attack someone, they are perfectly right to use deadly force in response. And sucks to be you if the person you attack is a better shot than you are.

6
Ih8leftists 6 points ago +6 / -0

While I was in Iraq a dude got hit by a thrown rock and it broke his jaw, he got a purple heart.

7
doggofacepsoldier 7 points ago +8 / -1

seen it too. Our position was overrun by man dress, flip flop wearing queers. Turned from a shooting fight to full on hand to hand combat, rock throwing, and the occasional grenade to add some spice. Saw a guy get his face taken out by a rock. many Hajis died that night and it was glorious. Watched our chaplain kill a man with his bare hands. The Templar Knights would have been proud

3
Ih8leftists 3 points ago +3 / -0

That's amazing

1
Barthaneous 1 point ago +1 / -0

I always said that Do you think the men of God in the Bible had PTSD? Like David killed hundreds in battle yet never once did he suffer from being upset at what he did. He like every man of God knew that his enemy must die for they were evil. They never over thought it.

Seems like that Chaplin was a true Soldier in Christ.

0

Former infantryman turned Catholic priest, turned Army chaplain. Unfortunately, most Chaplin's I need today are just giant pussies. The military is a shell of it's former self

2
try4gain 2 points ago +2 / -0

Read your state gun laws.

If you "shoot on site" for any old reason, expect to lose the court case.

1
Barthaneous 1 point ago +1 / -0

That is why I'm saying it needs to be changed. To the point where our militias must gather together and do the work. Clean house and all judges and lawmakers who have betrayed their oaths to protect Americans can find themselves out of a job or in prison. And same with cops who obey rules that prohibit Americans from protecting themselves.

He also raised the "risk factor" for any other protesters who assault cars (at least in Texas).

Before, it was risk-free to surround a car, smash the windows, and beat up the driver.

Now, protesters are going to be worried about getting shot. He's protecting all other drivers, even the ones not carrying a gun.

9
OranjeBlanjeBlou 9 points ago +10 / -1

That whole “herd immunity” you always hear about for communicable diseases? It’s true for the disease of crime, too.

Of a few members of a population make themselves safe against criminals, the criminals are less able to go after the population as a whole, because they can’t be sure whether their target is armed until it’s too late.
