The age is 16 in half of the US..

To my knowledge, that's if both participants in the sexual intercourse are both between 16-18 yrs of age. The older participant can be older than 18 and still be in a relationship with the minor participant but only if the 'adult' participant was a minor when the relationship started. (E.G. older was 17, younger was 16 and they stay a couple even after older turns 18, preventing 'statutory rape' scenario)
