That and the hassle isn't worth it. Exes sometimes report that you put a gun to their head or something but don't know anything about guns so they give a generic "glockalashnikov" description. This can save your bacon because you can then show the police your actual firearm and they'll see it's a false report. Otherwise they'll just take your guns and sort it out later. In some states they'll do that anyway but if they put a restraining order on you and they accurately describe your gun you're in a word of pain. You may never be able to own guns again. Same for your neighbors. If you ever have to transport something, do it in a case and don't post your stuff on social media. Police "may" also run your serial at a stop and they won't care that you tell them you own the gun if it's reported stolen. I've never heard of this next possibility actually happening but the reason people didn't post their serials way back was because in states where you have to register everything, someone could copy your serial and drop the gun in a public place. The rest are real cases that happen to gun owners all the time though.

Hence why they make 'gun laws'...if they can't ban them the. they will make your life as hard as possible for having them. High school bullies operate the exact same way.
