My ears hear 5 slow high powered rifle shots, followed by three faster pistol shots, and then a final rifle shot, probably from the would-be killer pulling the trigger in death.
I think the final rifle shot sounds quiet because the 3rd pistol shot came close before it. The tinny microphone is still overwhelmed by vibrations when the last rifle shot comes over it.
So the best info as of this post AFAIK is Garrett walked up and pointed his rifle, driver shot garret, 3rd person shoots at car.
And while this is in no means guaranteed to be accurate, the way the officer phrased it, it sounds like the 3rd shooter didn't see the driver shoot. I would assume that he will have a harder time claiming self-defense if thats the case.
that is what I heard but it is weird the police are saying the driver fired first.... so I dont know, That isnt what I heard. But its true 9mm is extremely loud and poppy but those first shots sound way more like an AK
even considering the change in location (different echos, behind car, etc.) they are very likely rifle first, then pistol.

To my untrained ear, that 4th shot sounds like the pistol as well, but could just be an echo. Lots of tall buildings there.
News reports said the cops reported the driver fired 3 shots, so im leaning towards an echo.
Good call. Echo is definitely possible.
I definitely hear two calibers, two shooters, but no mention of a second shooter in any news report yet.
Looks like APD confirms
