Group of Extremely Peaceful Protestors, including one Garrett Foster toting an AK-47, surrounded a car at night in Austin. When the driver tried to push through, our protagonist Mr. Foster opened fire on the car. The driver jumped out, pulled his concealed pistol, and eliminated the dumb commie. Mr. Foster was then hailed as a hero and a martyr by the left. The driver is cooperating with police.
Shooting through a window is INCREDIBLY risky. Any angle to the glass is going to deflect your bullet. Rolling the window down, or stepping out to shoot, is what any instructor will tell you to do. Plus, if you're being fired on and you're inside the vehicle, you are trapped. Get out, and you have the ability to retreat back using the door to deflect the bullets being fired at you.
If you shoot from the inside out through the front windshield, the bullet goes higher, and from the outside in it goes lower. Usually a couple inches at least. Not a big issue if you aim at center mass and are close, but if you're randomly hip firing or not aiming right it can definitely fuck up your shot.
Car doors will stop exactly zero bullets. The A pillar and hinges, sure, which is why cops stand where they do. The door is about as useful as a one legged midget in an ass kicking contest.
This is true, I work in a auto plant. Those doors are nothing but a thin piece of sheet metal. Thinner every model it seems. Only if the bullet hits the crash beams (which are only about and inch wide each) could it possibly stop or deflect. Not likely though.
Last time someone said they're gonna beat my ass while hopping out of the car I kicked the car door as his foot hit the ground. Broke his leg and pulled him out by his hair. Walked away. Fuckin' degenerate.
The McCloskey’s cooperated with police and so far that isn’t turning out well for them. At least we have that victory where the guy getting chased in New Mexico who dropped that skateboarder didn’t get charged.

Other than the jumping out of the car part, that is an accurate take on the events.

Why did this get down voted? It’s true. Hell, there’s video proof on YouTube.
Well, the risk certainly paid off in this case. I suppose the driver should have gone straight to Vegas to keep on winning.

Doors don’t deflect, nor do trunks but engine blocks work well.
