What they need is a few water cannons.

Tear gas (or other gas agents, whatever the stench) doesn't seem to be having much effect on those idiots. What's needed at this point is a water cannon: completely disregards gas masks and motorcycle helmets and leaf blowers, blasts through umbrellas and wooden rubber-bullet shields, knocks people clean off their feet, and leaves them wet and shivering.
